Metro Manila minimum wage to increase this October 2017

The long-awaited minimum wage increase for Metro Manila Private sector workers has been approved and will be implemented this coming October 2017.

Effective October 1, 2017, the minimum wage for the non-agricultural sector will increase from P491.00 to P512.00 while from P454.00 to P475.00 in the agricultural sector.

Beforehand, the last wage order in the region took effect in June 2016, wherein the wage board integrated the P15 COLA to the basic wage and the granting of the P10 COLA per day.

In this New Wage Order under non-agricultural sector, an amount of P21 will be incorporated to the old basic wage of P481 to form the new basic wage of P502.00 and the COLA will remain P10 which will total to the new Minimum Wage of P512.00

Wage Order NCR-21 will take effect 15 days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
